What another great week in Kindergarten!
We have loved learning about the Wampanoag and the Pilgrims! It was a great end to our week to have Mrs. Coulter come in and share some information and artifacts from the Navajo tribe. The kids particularly enjoyed going in the mock tipi. Next week we will have our First Thanksgiving celebration with Mrs. Abbate's class, so please send in your snack to share if you have not already. As the Thanksgiving Holiday approaches the class and I have thought a lot about how many things we have to be thankful for in our lives. I am so lucky to be surrounded by your wonderful children each day. They are some of the many things I am thankful for this year. Have a great weekend and holiday! Mrs. Seropian

Happy Thursday Families!
Well this week has gone by in a snap! But we have made the most of our 3 day week. We are looking forward to learning about the Pilgrims and Native Americans and the First Thanksgiving next week. Originally report cards were scheduled to go home today, but CMS moved the date, and they will be sent home on Monday. Don’t forget to place your scholastic order! Order some fun books for the holidays and help support our class. Our code is P6TQZ. This is the link to order. Don’t forget that to go along with our First Thanksgiving, students will have the chance to bring in their favorite snack (nut free) for us to use to create a trail mix with Mrs. Abbate’s class. We will use this as a way to show how the Pilgrims and Native Americans came together and celebrated the first harvest together. Don’t forget to send in headphones if you can. Have a great long weekend! Mrs. Seropian Happy Friday Families!
We have enjoyed talking about voting this week. We finished the week off by doing a flash debate. We debated based off of the book Duck For President, and argued to see if Farmer Brown or Duck should be president of the farm. The kids did an excellent job of presenting their sides. This week was only a 4 day week, but we had 13 total absences in our class just from illness. We do our best to control the spread of germs in our room, but the best defense is to be sure we are not sending students to school sick. Please be sure if your student has had a fever, that they are 24 hours fever free WITHOUT medication before returning to school. Also, keep in mind that with many colds students may not be running a fever, but may still be contagious. Lets work together to keep our room healthy! Don’t forget to place your scholastic order! Order some fun books for the holidays and help support our class. Our code is P6TQZ. This is the link to order. Reminder: there will be no school on Tuesday, Nov 8, and Friday, Nov 11. Later this month we will be talking about the First Thanksgiving. Our class will be working with Mrs. Abbate’s class to hold our own feast and recreate the coming together of the Native Americans and Pilgrims. If you have not already, please send in a large brown paper bag (like you get groceries in) for your student to use to make their Native American vest. To go along with our First Thanksgiving, students will have the chance to bring in their favorite snack (nut free) for us to use to create a trail mix with Mrs. Abbate’s class. We will use this as a way to show how the Pilgrims and Native Americans pooled their resources during the First Thanksgiving. Today your students brought home information about our Earn A Feather Challenge. This is a fun way for students to "earn a feather" to put in their headdress for our First Thanksgiving Celebration. Each task should first be completed at home. When you sign off that your student has successfully and independently completed the task, then I will check here at school. We will be kicking it off on Monday. Your student also brought home their square art order forms today. The due date is November 10th for orders ( It says Nov 7th on the form and that is not correct). If you want to add a personalization with a name, you must do that online. Don’t forget to send in headphones if you can. Have a great weekend! Mrs. Seropian |
