Happy Friday Families!
We have had a fun week reading all the different variations of the Gingerbread Man. There are so many versions we have not even read them all yet! The kids particularly enjoyed sharing their disguised gingerbread men, which are now hanging in the hall. We have also begun our Holidays Around the World unit and are enjoying learning about what holiday traditions look like across different cultures. Students enjoyed getting to share their own holiday traditions with our class too. In math we have wrapped up our work on patterns. We even created patterned candy canes using beads. Words:Our book this week from Reading A-Z for high frequency words was He Said No. Our words were he, she, said, no. Midterms: Midterms went home on Wednesday 12/5. Please be sure you have signed and returned it. Field Trip: We had great fun today at the Flat Rock Theater watching Junie B, Jingle Bells Batman Smells. It was a great show! Polar Express Day: On Wednesday 12/19 (our half day of school) we will be having Polar Express Day. On this day students in our class are invited to wear their jammies and bring a small stuffed animal to school. We will be watching the Polar Express! We will have hot coco, like in the movie, and we will do some fun learning activities related to the film. REMINDERS: Scholastic: Don’t forget to place your scholastic order to help support our classroom library! My class code is RD4R8 You will enter our class code when you order. I will place our class order at the end of each month. The books are delivered to the school and your purchase helps earn books and resources for our class. Letters: It is important to practice the letters at home because they support your child not only as a reader, but also a writer! Practice correct letter formation (from that yellow handout) as well as the name and sound of each letter. RAZ Kids: This is an amazing resource that gives you the ability to access digital books that are on your child’s level. Please consider utilizing this resources as another great way to read at home with your student! Snack: Please send a nut free snack with your child daily. Water Bottles: Please send your student to school with a water bottle so that they have access to water throughout the day. Also, please be sure that the bottle closes securely to avoid any leaks! Box Tops: Our school collects box tops! This is a great fundraiser, please send them in! Have a great Friday and weekend, Mrs. Seropian and Mrs. Holbert
